A portion of Route 28 between Route 130 and Old Mill Road in Cotuit was shut down Tuesday night after a woman was struck by a car.
First responders from both Cotuit and Mashpee arrived on the scene around 8:30 as the accident happened on the town line between Barnstable and Mashpee.
A MedFlight helicopter was called but unable to make the trip because of the weather so the woman was taken to Cape Cod Hospital.
The driver of the car, a Ford Crown Victoria, was evaluated at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
