Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are down three cents this week.
That was the finding of AAA’s July 16 survey of prices in the state. AAA finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.83 per gallon. The Massachusetts price is four cents lower than the national average for regular unleaded of $2.87. A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 65 cents lower at $2.18.
“An increase in gasoline inventories in the northeast has helped keep prices stable in states throughout the region,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 38 cents, from a low of $2.61 to a high of $2.99.
