The Coast Guard is asking for help from kayakers when it comes to investigating "empty kayak" cases.
The most recent local incident was last week, when an unmanned kayak was found adrift in Cape Cod Bay. A Coast Guard spokesperson says there have been about 60 cases so far this year, each costing hundreds of thousands of dollars per hour.
Officials say it would be helpful if owners get an "if found" sticker or leave some sort of contact information on the kayak.
