The Outer Cape Police Gun Buyback program is being hailed as a success.
The program, which began on Saturday, May 5 and ran through Monday, May 14, allowed citizens to voluntarily turn in unwanted firearms to their local police department for a gift card from a local business.
A total of twelve guns were brought in for the buyback program between all the participating police departments. Those guns will be turned over to the Mass State Police for destruction.
