The Women of Fishing Families has announced the annual Blessing of the Fleet will be held at the Chatham Fish Pier, 45 Barcliff Ave Extension, on Saturday May 26 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The day will begin with the blessing ceremony, which includes a blessing for the fishermen, their crews and their boats, and for a safe fishing season. The blessing will be followed by a host of activities, music, food, drink, and fishermen competitions including shucking and rope coiling.
The Women of Fishing Families is a non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to supporting Cape Cod fishing families and the great fishing community on Cape Cod.
