Cape Cod Hospital is one of thirty hospitals in Massachusetts given a grade of “A” in a nation-wide hospital safety analysis by The Leapfrog Group.
The high marks given to the hospitals for preventing medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections which collectively are the third-leading cause of death in the U.S.
Massachusetts had one of the highest percentages of ”A” hospitals in the country. The Leapfrog group assessed about 2,500 hospitals nationwide; 30 percent earned an “A”, 28 percent a “B”, 35 percent a “C”, 6 percent a “D”, and one percent an “F.”
