Station Avenue in South Yarmouth turned into a sea of blue Tuesday afternoon as more than a thousand law enforcement officers gathered for the wake of 32 year old Yarmouth Police K9 Officer Sean Gannon, shot and killed last week attempting to execute an arrest warrant with other officers in Marstons Mills.
The funeral for officer Gannon takes place at St. Pius X church in South Yarmouth this morning at 11, followed by a private burial in West Yarmouth.
If you’re planning on traveling in the area of the church this morning, be aware that Station Avenue between D-Y Regional High School and Wood Road will be closed beginning around 10 a.m. and will remain closed until after the funeral.
