Sandwich Police and members of the Cape Cod Drug Task Force arrested a Fall River man Wednesday on charges of trafficking heroin.
Police obtained search warrants for Marcus Pogue, 24, and a residence in Barnstable. That residence was searched at 5:30 Wednesday morning with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police STOP Team. Pogue and a female, Leah Grace Nickerson, 21, of 69 Quinaquissett Ave in Mashpee were later located at a Mid-Cape motel. Pogue was searched and found to be in possession of more than 20 grams of heroin. A search of the motel room turned up an additional 186 grams of heroin.
Pogue was charged with trafficking heroin and resisting arrest. Nickerson was charged with Knowingly Being Present Where Heroin is Kept.
Both were booked at the Sandwich Police Department before being transported to Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
These arrests are a culmination of a joint investigation which began several weeks ago.
