State Police Have Bigger Presence On Island

Additional State Police Troopers are being deployed to barracks on Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket beginning Monday. Col Christopher Mason says it will be “to bolster public safety capabilities during the Covid 19 emergency.”

Two additional troopers be deployed to Nantucket and one more trooper be sent to Oak Bluffs.

Troopers have also been added to the Commonwealth Watch Center.

The Center monitors developments and potential public safety threats in real time across the state.
