Coronavirus Update: Masks In Short Supply For Some Hospitals

Congressman Richard Neal and Baystate Health president Mark Keroack doing an electronic town hall meeting last night about the coronavirus.

Officials say there are about 200 medical staff at Baystate Medical Center who are in quarantine. There are 12 thousand people who work for the hospital.

Neal said stimulus checks from the federal government should go to people who earn fifty-thousand dollars a year or less. He conceded that there is a debate over whether the numbers should be adjusted. The President says that he believes once approved the checks could be out by the early portion of April.

Neal also called for a major infrastructure-spending program after the coronavirus pandemic ends to keep Americans working.

Among the things Keroack talked about, he said he's concerned that Baystate might run out of a supply of masks.

Meanwhile, Baystate Health announced yesterday it is ending visitations at all of its hospitals.
