Several unprecedented measures are now in place statewide in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. All schools are closed as of tomorrow for the next three weeks. Gatherings of more than 25 people are banned for all events including faith-based. Starting tomorrow, restaurants and bars are prohibited from serving food and drinks on-site, only takeout and delivery services will be allowed. Governor Charlie Baker says he's asking Massachusetts residents to understand the rationale behind the restrictions.
Governor Charlie Baker says he's heard false rumors that he'll order a broad quarantine for all residents. He told reporters last night the rumor is an example of the misinformation about coronavirus circulating online. The governor urges the public to check trusted sources such as the government or legitimate news organizations for the latest information.
Even The National Security Council had to issue a statement Monday morning.
