Action Plan Being Developed After Island Well-Testing
1/8/19
Testing for contaminated water has been completed on nearly one-hundred private wells in one part of Martha's Vineyard.
The Environmental Engineer overseeing the tests for a neighborhood South of Martha's Vineyard Airport says 13 of 96 wells that were tested had samples above the state guidelines for PFAS, a contaminant of emerging concern.
An action plan is being developed for submission to the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, and in the meantime, homes with elevated levels are being given bottled water.
