Panel Discussion Held On Topic Of Gun Violence

Several survivors of mass shootings were panelists for an event centered around the topic of gun violence on the Cape Wednesday.
The event, titled "What Comes After Thoughts and Prayers: A Conversation About Ending Senseless Violence," was held at Cape Cod Community College.
Lisa Hamp, who survived the 2007 mass shooting at Virginia Tech, talked about having more enhanced security at places where shootings could happen.
New Bedford police officer Joshua Fernandes, who was injured while responding to a shooting at a strip club in Freetown in 2006, stressed the importance of spotting the signs a person might become a shooter.
