YPD/Car Break-Ins
11/20/18
The Yarmouth Police Department is investigating 12 motor vehicle break-ins that occurred overnight in the neighborhood near the Yarmouth Port playground this past weekend.
Police say most of the vehicles were unlocked.
The break-ins are being experienced now in many Cape towns.
The YPD is offering some tips that may keep your vehicle from being broken into including making sure your car doors are locked any time you’re not with the vehicle, always park in a well-lit area, don’t leave important vehicle related papers in the glove box, and never leave your wallet or purse in the vehicle.
Among the items targeted by thieves are credit cards, money, cell phones, i-pads, and GPS units. If the items are in plain sight, that’s an open invitation for someone to break into your vehicle.
