The Town of Provincetown Shellfish Constable has released a statement saying Bay Scallops are abundant this year.
The West End area of Provincetown Harbor from Captain Jack’s Wharf to the Provincetown Inn will be open to the public for the recreational taking of Bay Scallops only.
This is a recreational harvest only and the limit is two ten quart baskets per week in addition to mixed shellfish limits.
A town recreational shellfishing license is required and fees are 15-dollars for residents and 50-dollars for non-residents.
A free shellfish permit will be issued to residents or tax payers age 65 and older.
