Nantucket Man Arrested On Gun Charges

A motor vehicle stop on Nantucket Friday morning resulted in the arrest of a local man on gun charges.
In a press release the State Police report that Trooper Kevin Bates was on patrol on Milk Street when he observed a black Lexus being operated by a man who was believed to have a suspended driverās license.
Trooper Bates confirmed the suspension was still in effect and stopped the vehicle on Prospect Street.
37 year old Amis Carlisle of Nantucket was arrested for driving with a suspended license. During an inventory of his car, police located a Kel-Tec KSG 12 gauge dual barrel tactical shotgun. Carlisle was not properly licensed to be in possession of the firearm.
In addition to the vehicle operation charge, Carlisle was charged with possession of a firearm without a license, having an unsecured firearm in a vehicle and improper storage of a firearm.
He was arraigned Monday in Nantucket District Court.
