Wareham PD/OUI Arrest

Around 1 o’clock Tuesday morning, Wareham Police Officer Calib Larue observed a car on the Cranberry Highway, near Onset Avenue, traveling at a high rate of speed in the opposite lane.
The vehicle suddenly crossed over the double solid line heading toward the cruiser forcing Officer Larue to take evasive action to avoid being struck.
He turned his cruiser around and went after the vehicle which was accelerating before quickly pulling into the Rosewood Motel and stopping.
The officer ordered the driver out of the vehicle and after an investigation determined that 23 year old Thomas Tuell of Wareham, was impaired...........he was placed under arrest.
Tuell was charged with several motor vehicle offenses including operating under the influence of liquor, failure to stop for police, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to drive in the right lane.
He was arraigned in Wareham District Court.
