Wellfleet/Beaches Reopen
9/20/18
After being closed to swimming for several days following the shark attack that killed 26 year old Arthur Medici of Revere on Saturday, Wellfleet Officials have reopened their four ocean side beaches.
In a press release, the Director of Community Services in Wellfleet, Suzanne Grout Thomas, says if people do decide to go swimming, they should follow the Shark Smart Protocol: stay close to shore, don’t swim alone, don’t swim at dawn or dusk and avoid wearing or using anything that sparkles.
Thomas reminds people that September and October are the prime months for Great White Sharks in Cape Cod waters.
