Body Found In Water Off Of Chatham
Crews from Coast Guard Station Chatham, along with the Chatham Harbormasters Office, responded Wednesday morning to a report of a capsized boat in the water in the area of the North Inlet.
Responders found the body of 44 year old Louis Guarracina of Newburyport in the water near an overturned 24 foot center console Carolina Skiff.
The Cape Cod Chronicle says Guarracina’s body was discovered by the crew working on the Barnstable County dredge, which is clearing shoaling near the inlet.
The victim reportedly owns a home on Morris Island.
Detectives from the State Police assigned to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office responded and are investigating with assistance from the Massachusetts Environmental Police.
The D.A.’s Office says foul play is not suspected.
