Shark Monday
8/28/18
It was a busy day for Great White Shark sightings in the waters off of the Outer and Lower Cape Monday.
The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy says that state shark expert Dr. Greg Skomal tagged the 10th and 11th white sharks of this summer season.
Number 10 was tagged 100 yards off of Nauset Beach and number 11 was tagged ÂĽ mile off of Nauset Spit.
....and another Cape beach was closed for an hour yesterday when a White Shark breached the water about 100 yards off shore forcing the closure of Head of the Meadow Beach in Truro.
Longnook Beach in Truro has been closed for nearly two weeks after a man was bitten while standing in the water about 30 yards offshore. He was released from a Boston hospital Monday.
Truro officials say there are no immediate plans to reopen that beach.
