YPD/Drug User Passed Out With Baby
8/22/18
Yarmouth Police and Fire Department personnel responded Monday afternoon to a report of a person passed out, face down on the ground, with an infant crying in a nearby baby carriage on Coolidge Road in West Yarmouth.
When rescuers arrived the man became conscious after suffering an apparent drug overdose while pushing the child in the carriage.
Police are not releasing the identity of the man who refused help and declined medical treatment. He was placed in protective custody by YPD Officers and transported to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulance.
The mother of the infant was notified and police officers filed an emergency report with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
