Mashpee Woman Indicted
8/21/18
Three people, including a woman from Mashpee, have been indicted in connection with a scheme to fraudulently bill the state’s Medicaid program....MassHealth.....for personal care attendant services (PCA) that were not provided.
The state attorney general’s office says 23 year old Kariann Tomer of Mashpee, along with two individuals from Fall River and New Bedford, were indicted today on charges of false Medicaid claims and larceny over 12-hundred dollars.
PCAs are paid by MassHealth to provide basic health services, and assist disabled beneficiaries with activities of daily living.
The three allegedly did not provide any services, but reportedly submitted time sheets to MassHealth claiming that they did.
The trio will be arraigned in Bristol County Superior Court on Monday, September 27th.
