Eastham PD/Serious Accident

Eastham Police and Fire Departments responded Wednesday afternoon to a report of a two vehicle crash on Route 6 at Kingsbury Beach Road.
A preliminary investigation indicated that as a Jeep Grand Cherokee was pulling out of a driveway onto Route 6 it was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck travelling north on Six towing a boat.
Rescuers determined that one of the vehicle drivers had serious and possibly life threatening injuries and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
While the scene was being investigated, traffic Southbound on Route 6 was detoured onto Great Pond Road for approximately two hours. One Northbound lane was open.
The names of the vehicle operators have not been released at this time.
The accident is under investigation by Eastham Police and the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team.
