Pocasset Man Arrested/Drugs

The Coast Guard detained a Pocasset man Sunday after cocaine was discovered at the bottom of a storage container on his boat.
The Inquirer and Mirror reports that 47 year old Darren Driscoll was enroute to Nantucket on a personal watercraft when he was stopped on the water by the Coast Guard.
Nantucket Police were called to Coast Guard Station Brant Point after guardsmen had detained two men believed to be involved with narcotics activity.
An officer observed a white powdery substance scattered throughout the bottom of a compartment on the boat.
Driscoll was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine. He was arraigned in Nantucket District Court on Monday where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
He will be back in court for a pre-trial hearing on Tuesday, October 9th.
The second man on the boat was not charged in criminal court.
