Combat Veteran Killed In Triple Fatal Car Crash
A third person has died as the result of a two vehicle crash on Route 28 in Cotuit early Saturday morning.
NBC 10 Boston has reported that 24 year old Jocelyn Goyette of New Bedford, was a passenger in a car driven by 22 year old Mickey Rivera of Fall River when it smashed head on into a vehicle driven by 32 year old Kevin Quinn of Mashpee.
Rivera died at the scene, Quinn died was taken to South Shore Hospital where he later died and Goyette was taken to a Boston hospital and died Monday afternoon.
Quinn was returning from Cape Cod Hospital where he had been visiting his wife and newborn daughter. He was a combat veteran who served two tours of duty in Afghanistan. He was pinned in the wreckage and firefighters had to use the jaws of life to free him from his SUV.
Reports indicate that Mashpee Police were in pursuit of Rivera at the time of the crash. He was free on bail after being charged as an accessory to murder in 2015 in Fall River and was due to appear in Superior Court today.
Kevin Quinn will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Bourne, with full military honors, on Monday, August 6th.
