Barnstable Police Arrest Local Man

BPD/Verbally Abusive Man

7/26/18

On Tuesday, July 17th Barnstable Police conducted a traffic stop of a 48 year old Barnstable man who failed to yield to an ambulance responding to an emergency.

During the stop, David Luna exited his vehicle, against the officer’s direction, and began a verbal tirade of expletives and after receiving his citation continued to berate the police.

Later that day on Facebook, Luna allegedly complained about the motor vehicle stop and personally called out the officer saying he would like to see him  “ get it next “ ,referring to the two recent police officer murders.

In light of his actions, police sought and were issued an arrest warrant for Luna for intimidation of a witness, disorderly conduct and threat to commit a crime.

Luna was subsequently arrested and taken to Barnstable District Court where he verbally accosted the BPD prosecutor during arraignment.

There was a dangerousness hearing on Monday where additional charges were added.

Luna is being held without bail until his next court date in August.
