Nantucket Man Arrested/Upskirting

A statement released by the State Police Monday said three women on Nantucket approached State Trooper Kevin Bates last Thursday and told him that they had witnessed a man take an “upskirt” photo of a woman on Federal Street in Nantucket.
The women had obtained video and pictures of the suspect.
Later that evening, Trooper Bates observed the suspect waiting tables at a local restaurant.
Two troopers met the 30 year old man, who was from Nantucket, and after an investigation, which included viewing pictures taken by the suspect, he was placed under arrest.
The unidentified man was charged with committing illegal electronic surveillance or video of a nude or partially nude person.
Troopers are continuing their investigation to determine the scope of the suspect’s crimes. He was also sent to a hospital for evaluation after making statements suggesting he posed a threat to his own safety.
