Wareham PD/Wanted Bad Guy

A Wareham police officer working an off-duty detail on Hathaway Street directing traffic on Monday saw 29 year old Jazz Tavares of New Bedford drive by with a female as a passenger.

Officer Charles Pillsbury knew Tavares had a revoked license and stopped the vehicle at which point Tavares reportedly stepped on the gas causing Officer Pillsbury to run out of the way to avoid being hit by the car.

The vehicle was stopped a short time later and 29 year old Kristina Boucher-Szwedko of Mattapoisett, who had been a passenger, was now driving the car and refused to cooperate with police.

She was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact of a felony, interfering with the duties of a police officer and numerous motor vehicle violations.

Police are actively seeking Tavares for several charges including assault with a dangerous weapon, and operating to endanger. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Jazz Tavares is to contact Wareham P.D.
