Whale Disentangled In New York Harbor
A Humpback Whale that had been spotted near Cape Cod caught up in fishing nets last October finally had the gear removed last week.
The Center for Coastal Studies in Provincetown says it was able to remove the gear that was wrapped around the young whale's upper jaw in New York Harbor last week.
The organization says it had tried a couple of times to disentangle the whale in the harbor in November and December, but didn't have any luck.
The whale's prognosis moving forward is said to be much-improved.
