Baby Osprey Rescued

On Sunday, Dennis Animal Control Officer Jennifer Harrington was part of a team that helped rescue a baby Osprey which was entangled in some netting.

The Osprey was still in its nest adjacent to Lower County Road near the Swan River and had netting entangled around its talon, legs and wing.

Officer Harrington climbed out to the nest on a 110 foot ladder extended from the Dennis Fire Department ladder truck and picked up the bird.

The little Osprey was taken to Wild Care in Orleans where the netting was removed and the bird was then placed back into its nest.
