Eastham PD/Big Drug Bust

Eastham Police were called to the town’s information booth on Route 6 Thursday afternoon for a report of a motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival police found that a vehicle had left the information booth parking lot, driven across four lanes of route 6 and smashed into a tree.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, 30 year old Scott Douglass of Rehobeth and his passenger, 24 year old Dante Vara from Acton, both appeared to be under the influence of a drug.
An investigation turned up approximately 218 grams of liquid methamphetamine, 12 grams of crystal meth, nearly 4 grams of heroin, 11 cigarettes believed to be laced with cocaine, a number of prescription medications and other drug related paraphernalia.
Both men were arrested.
Douglass was charged with a laundry list of drug charges including trafficking methamphetamine, possession of heroin with intent to distribute and O.U.I. drugs.
Vara was charged with multiple drug violations including trafficking methamphetamine and possession of heroin with intent to distribute.
They were arraigned in Orleans District Court.
