Right Whales Act Introduced As Another Possible Carcass Is Discovered
6/15/18
There is new legislation to protect the critically endangered North Atlantic Right Whales.
Two bills were introduced in the Senate and U.S. House last week by a group that includes 9th District Congressman William Keating.
The” Save Right Whales Act” establishes a new grant program to fund collaborative projects between states, non-governmental organizations and members of the fishing and shipping industries to reduce the impacts of human activities on the endangered species.
Authorities are now investigating a possible Right Whale death off the coast of Virginia, which would be the second documented death this year.
