Harwich Port Man Pinned Under Car

Harwich PD/Man Pinned Under Car

6/9/18

Harwich Police responded Friday morning to reports of a man pinned under a motor vehicle in a parking lot behind 546 Route 28 in Harwich Port.

On their Facebook page, Harwich Police say Animal Control Officer Jack Burns was in a neighboring parking lot and arrived to find the 62 year old Harwich Port man being pulled from under the car by a group of citizens who lifted the vehicle off of him.

The unidentified man was in cardiac arrest and citizens started CPR. Fire Rescue Personnel arrived and transported him to Cape Cod Hospital. He was later flown by Medflight to a Boston hospital in critical condition.

An investigation determined that the man was working under his car when the scissor jack was knocked loose, pinning him.

The name of the victim has not been released.
