YPD/Break-In Suspect Arrested
Yarmouth Police responded early Wednesday morning to a report of a break-in that had just occurred on Center Street in Yarmouthport.
The homeowner reported that he was awakened by a noise and saw his son, 20 year old Samuel Duprey, running from his garage into the woods with an accomplice.
The homeowner reported that a window in his garage had been smashed and the garage door, previously closed, was now open.
Police located a roll of duct tape, a fishing knife and a screw driver about 20 feet from the side of the garage and searching the area located Duprey in a light blue hatchback seen fleeing the scene.
He was placed under arrest and the car was towed.
Police found two pairs of ‘brass knuckles”, which are illegal in Massachusetts, on the floor of the car.
Duprey was charged with felony destruction of property, felony breaking and entering a building and felony carrying a dangerous weapon.
He was arraigned in Barnstable District Court where he was released on personal recognizance pending a pre-trial hearing on July 6th.
