Hyannis Crosswalk Road Rage

Barnstable Police responded to a road rage incident involving a knife and a hammer Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:55 on South Street when 31-year-old Brian Parks attempted to cross the road.

A truck approached Parks as he was trying to use the crosswalk; he did not believe the truck was going to yield, so he threw a metal object at the vehicle and caused damage.

The operator exited the pickup truck with a hammer; Parks drew a spring assisted knife and, after a verbal confrontation, threw the knife at the truck, missing it completely.

Barnstable Police arrived on scene and arrested Parks for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Carrying a Dangerous Weapon, and Injury to Property; he was taken to Barnstable District Court.
