Barnstable police arrested a man for continuing to operate a drug distribution business at a residence in Hyannis.
Yarmouth and Barnstable Police detectives initially arrested 27-year-old Jimmy Lee Perry, of Hyannis, back in April for trafficking fentanyl. While on bail, Perry was arrested again for unlawful possession of three handguns; he was held without bail.
After this investigation, Barnstable detectives received information that Jimmy Lee’s brother, 26-year-old Robert “Bookie” Perry, had taken over his brother’s narcotics distribution business.
Police executed a search warrant at Bookie’s home on Ridgewood Avenue, and upon execution of the search warrant, a detective was assaulted by Bookie’s girlfriend. Once placed into custody, detectives searched the home and found a small amount of heroin, drug packaging materials and writing material detailing their distribution of drugs; two handguns were also found along with ammunition and are currently being analyzed for DNA.
Bookie Perry was charged with Possession of a Class “A” Substance and Conspiracy to Violate the Controlled Substance Laws
His girlfriend, Tayla Degrace, incurred the same charges while additionally being charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon (Shoe).
Both posted bail and are scheduled for arraignment on Monday.
