Procession for Slain Yarmouth Police Officer

Officer Gannon Escort to St. Pius X

Tuesday afternoon at approximately 3 P.M., slain Yarmouth Police K-9 Officer Sean Gannon will be taken with full law enforcement honor from the Doane, Beal and Ames Funeral Home on West Main Street in Hyannis to St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth.

Officer Gannon, age 32, was gunned down by an alleged career criminal last Thursday while assisting other officers in executing an arrest warrant at a home in Marstons Mills.

The route of the procession will be West Main Street, to South Street, left onto Lewis Bay Road past Cape Cod Hospital, on to East Main Street, Hyannis and along Route 28 into South Yarmouth. Just before the Bass River Bridge the procession will turn left onto North Main Street, and left onto to Station Avenue to St. Pius X Church.

You are encouraged by Yarmouth Police to line the route to honor Officer Gannon and are asked to wear blue showing your support of officer Gannon’s family and police officers.

As many as 4-thousand police officers from across the United States are expected to attend the wake and funeral

His wake will take place this evening at St.Pius from 4 to 8 P.M.  The church will stay open until everyone has a chance to pay their respects.

The funeral will take place at St. Pius at 11 A.M. Wednesday.
