4/12/18
The second night of Tisbury’s Town Meeting found the majority of residents in attendance supporting building a new 46.6 million dollar elementary school.
The Vineyard Gazette reports that after two nights of emotionally charged debate, construction of the new school was approved by a vote of 319 in favor – 99 opposed.
The voters will have the final say on a Proposition 2 ½ debt exclusion for the school at the ballot box on Tuesday, April 24th from 12 to 8 P.M.
There are still 30 articles remaining on the Tisbury warrant and town meeting will reconvene tonight at 7 P.M.
