Vineyard High School Student Arrested

An 18 year old Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School student was arrested on Monday on school grounds.
The Vineyard Gazette reports that Gabriel Nascimento of West Tisbury was found to have marijuana and pellet guns in his possession at the school.
According to the Gazette Nascimento was taken into custody for possession of what police called a substantial amount of marijuana edibles....... candy bars and gummies..... sometimes associated with medical marijuana.
He will be charged by Oak Bluffs police with intent to distribute marijuana. Weapons charges are not being sought at this time.
Police say there were no threats or immediate danger associated with the pellet weapons, which were discovered in a search of Nascimento’s vehicle.
