Provincetown residents worked their way through their special and annual town meeting last night approving every article on both warrants.
Voters approved appropriating 120-thousand dollars to fund Universal Pre-Kindergarten for 4 and 5 year olds, 100- thousand for Preschool for children 3 and 4 years old and 88-thousand for “Wee Care” for infants and toddlers. All the appropriations are contingent on passage of a proposition 2 ½ override at the ballot box.
The FY 2019 operating budget of 27-million dollars was approved along with 11-thousand dollars for bulletproof vests for the police department along with 58-hundred for radar speed advisory signs.
One million dollars was approved for two fire engines to replace two ruined in the January 4th storm........that money is contingent upon the passage of a proposition 2 ½ debt exclusion.
