Wareham Police arrested a woman traveling with her 3-year old child for Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence after she crashed her car into a snow bank.
The accident happened at approximately 2 p.m. near 144 Glen Charlie Road.
Upon arrival, officers noticed the woman slumped over the wheel of the vehicle with her child in the rear seat.
Police noted the driver was suffering from an apparent drug overdose; she was administered Narcan while Wareham Fire Rescue responded.
Once on scene, both the driver and child were evaluated; the woman was taken to Tobey Hospital for treatment relating to the overdose, while the child sustained no injuries and was taken to Wareham PD to await the arrival of family members.
The driver, 34-year old Jocelyn MacRoberts, was charged with OUI Drugs, Operating to Endanger, Child Endangerment while Operating Under the Influence, and several traffic violations.
