YPD/Alert Citizen Helps Catch Suspect

Sunday night Yarmouth Police received a call from a concerned citizen reporting a person acting suspiciously near his neighbor’s vehicle in the area of Echo Road and Partridge Valley Road in West Yarmouth.
Police arriving at the scene observed a white Ford Taurus parked in the driveway of a home, with its side mirror lights on, door partially opened and the center armrest partially raised up.
The owner of the car came outside and told officers she had closed the doors, that the armrest was all the way down and that her GPS was missing.
A K-9 unit arrived and located a man walking in the immediate area, matching the description of the suspect and carrying a small headlamp.
22 year old Michael Korbel of West Yarmouth was arrested and charged with breaking and entering in the night time - felony motor vehicle.
