White Ribbon Day
2/14/18
The Yarmouth Police Department, Independence House and the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office are collaborating for the 6th year to bring White Ribbon Day to Cape Cod.
White Ribbon Day is a national campaign that calls on men and boys to stand up in solidarity and take a pledge, wear a white ribbon and be part of a positive change movement by saying “no” to violence against women and girls and all gender based violence.
The White Ribbon Campaign was founded in 1991 by a group of men committed to ending men’s violence against women through education, discussion and action.
The free community event is set to take place at the Cape Cod Irish Village in South Yarmouth on Thursday, March 1st..
Featured speakers will include Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe, Barnstable County Sheriff James Cummings, and Independence House Executive Director Lysetta Hurge-Putnam.
