Coast Guard Suspends Search
2/9/18
The Coast Guard suspended its search Thursday afternoon for a possible mariner in distress in Buzzards Bay after searches yielded no findings or correlating information.
A search was launched Wednesday night after Watchstanders heard three faint mayday calls over the radio. Attempts to establish contact with the caller were unsuccessful.
The search covered a total of 767 square nautical miles and included Coast Guard, state and local responders.
The search was suspended pending the development of any new information.
