A shooting in Hyannis early Saturday morning left one person dead.
The victim was found on the ground by Barnstable Police at approximately 2:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bearse’s Way and General Patton Drive.
Upon closer inspection, officers found the man had been shot once in the chest.
Hyannis Fire and Rescue arrived on scene and took the victim to Cape Cod Hospital; he was later pronounced dead.
Massachusetts State Police detectives along with Barnstable Police are investigating the incident.
