Sandwich FD/House Fire

Sandwich firefighters responded to a report of a house fire at 4 Richards Way Tuesday afternoon.
Arriving crews found heavy fire in the basement and throughout the two bedroom home.
A second alarm was called in bringing assistance to the scene from Bourne, Barnstable, West Barnstable, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills, and Cotuit.
Due to the intensity of the flames, firefighters couldn’t get into the home and attacked the fire from the outside.
It took about an hour to put out the blaze.
No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the Sandwich Fire Department and the State Fire Marshall.
