A woman was arrested in the parking lot of a convenience store in West Yarmouth Friday evening for using heroin.
Members of the Yarmouth Police Proactive Anti-Crime unit observed a white Dodge Avenger parked along the side of the store located at Bakers Square.
The subject was caught in the act of using a hypodermic needle to shoot up heroin and was subsequently placed under arrest; three small bags of heroin were found and seized.
32-year-old Kelli Smith, of Dennis, was arrested and charged with possession of Class A Heroin-Fentanyl.
She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled for arraignment in Barnstable District court on Tuesday.
