Wareham police responded to a report of suspicious packages at Cape Cod Express Wednesday afternoon.
The department received information from management at the Cape Cod Express, describing the “packages” as two wooden crates.
Police arrived on scene and during the investigation, a male claiming ownership of the crates arrived and took possession of them.
40-year-old Michael Chen, of Providence Rhode Island, was confronted by detectives and consented to a search of the crates, which led to the discovery of marijuana packaged in 60 plastic food saver bags in one crate, and 52 bags containing marijuana packaged in another.
The total weight of the marijuana found in the crates was 112 pounds.
Chen was placed under arrest at the scene and charged with Trafficking Marijuana Over 100 Pounds, he was held at the Wareham Police Department and arraigned Wednesday in Wareham District Court.
