Officials from the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy responded to two sharks that were stranded Wednesday along the Cape.
Working with Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries and NOAA Fisheries Service, the AWSC discovered the two thresher sharks on the beach; both of the male sharks were nearly the same size and likely stranded due to cold shock.
Morphometric data, organs, and tissue samples were collected to be examined once they thaw.
The Conservancy says if you spot something strange on Cape beaches, you can always contact them by sending a message with a location and a picture, if possible.
