Gas Prices Rise Slightly in Massachusetts

Gasoline prices in Massachusetts are up one cent this week, according to AAA Northeast.

Despite this increase, drivers can expect pump prices to drop heading into the holiday season as supply strengthens and fall gasoline demand weakens.

AAA’s December 11th survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $2.49 per gallon.

The Massachusetts price is three cents above the national average for regular unleaded of $2.46.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 32 cents lower at $2.17.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 48 cents, from a low of $2.31 to a high of $2.79.
